This morning i woke up to gabe snorring in my ear and tickling my foot. well not really but close. today was great! we woke up and did devotions and ate breakfast before our first day as what we call doctors. everyone loves us because were american "doctors" but in reality there are only 3. Throughout the day we saw 70 patients ranging from people wanting there blood pressure taken to dr. dean cutting around a lady's sore on her foot that was a result of a diabetic wound. we saw some people with scoliosis and several with worms. Cassie and i used almost all of the supplies for the blood sugar level test and even had one lady that had a blood sugar level of 497! the dentists with the group were
pulling teethe left and right. medically we had a great day and it was very exciting! we had several people come to know the Lord as a result of fellow christians talking and praying with them. I know this is jumpy but there is a lot to say in such a little time. the translators were great! Kelley, kirsten, gabe and bianca are the translators and so far i would say that gabe is the best. His portunol is the best brazil has ever seen! However, by friday i will be translating for the entire group! it takes time but im getting it... although we saw only 70 people today which is much less than last year, its ok b/c the catholic church in town is extremely against evangelism and are discouraging the community from coming to the project. no worries tho b/c we know that God is going to bring the people to us! this is satan trying to get in the way but we are continuing to pray. After our first day, everyone is getting along very well and we are enjoying our time with the locals.

Hi CHASE!! It looks like you are having a blast in Brazil! I am soooo super excited for you! Your wonderful! I love the picture of you pricking a finger. What a doctor in the making! Your never going to believe this but I didn't make it to Savannah. It was all in the big man's hands because I am now quite sick, but I went to the doc and am on meds. I hope I will make it to NY tomorrow! I am soooo excited to hear about this incredible trip! I miss you tons! Enjoy every second of the trip! :)
Hey Chase, Wonderful to read your blog and see all the pictures of everyone. Sounds like you are having a great time. We are praying the Lord will bring you many people in need both physically and spiritually. We miss you, and the BIG GIRL really misses you. Can't wait to talk to you on the phone. XOXO Mom 2 Thessalonians 2:16
Definitely praying any opposition will crumble under God's awesome power! Also praying the Holy Spirit will energize each of you daily. I will continue to pray for boldness and miracles(why not go big?).
What up Chase? The trip looks and sounds awesome, and the Lord is answering all of the prayers. We are thrilled to see the smiles and even more excited about the successes so far both medically and spiritually. The Lord is using the crazy Americans in a way that I am sure even you all did not fully anticipate. Plant a lot of seeds so when you return (and I know you will) you can see the harvest. We love you and the big girl hasn't been the same since you left (and she appears to be dealing with her depression in the food bowl!!) Keep us updated. Love you Dad.
